Police say the shooting happened on a Sunday morning and involved a domestic dispute that unfolded across two homes. Officers identified the suspect as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, the father of several of the children involved in the incident.

Authorities reported that Shamar Elkins was later killed by police after a pursuit that followed the rampage. The case has been described by investigators as one of the most devastating domestic incidents in the area.

The children killed ranged in age from about one year old to early teens. Their deaths have left the Cedar Grove community in deep shock and grief, with neighbors struggling to process the scale of the loss.

Two women were also shot during the incident and suffered critical injuries. Shaneiqua Elkins is among them, and family members say she remains hospitalized while facing both physical recovery and overwhelming emotional trauma.

Another mother, identified as Keoshia, was also critically wounded. The fundraiser created for the families is meant to support both women as they recover and deal with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The GoFundMe campaign, titled “Support for Elkins Family – Community Unity,” aims to cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and ongoing care needs. Organizers say the goal is to relieve financial pressure during an already unbearable moment.

As of Sunday, the fundraiser had raised close to 4,000 dollars, with donations continuing to come in from community members and supporters who say they want to stand beside the grieving families.
