Houston Ashanti Allen Tragedy Leaves Family Mourning Unborn Son

A quiet stretch of Chimney Rock Road turned into a scene of heartbreak Thursday morning, as the body of 23-year-old Ashanti Allen was found in a Houston park. Just days earlier, she had been reported missing. Now, her family is left grieving not only her loss, but also that of her unborn son, Jaxon, who was just weeks away from being born.

Police say Allen was eight months pregnant at the time of her death. Investigators have since charged 24-year-old Kevin Faux, identified as the father of the child, with murder. As of now, he remains on the run, with authorities urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his arrest.

For Allen’s loved ones, the tragedy cuts especially deep. She was described as a vibrant young woman who had been eagerly preparing to welcome her baby boy into the world. That joy has now been replaced with grief, as her family faces the painful reality of planning a joint funeral for both mother and child.

In response, relatives have launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Our Family Honor Ashanti and Baby Jaxon.” The fundraiser speaks plainly about the emotional toll of the loss, calling Allen a beloved sister whose life was taken too soon. It also highlights the financial strain now weighing on the family as they try to cover unexpected funeral costs.

As of Friday, the campaign had raised $5,740 toward its $9,000 goal. Donations continue to come in from friends, neighbors, and strangers moved by the story. Each contribution, no matter the size, reflects a shared sense of sorrow and support for a family navigating an unthinkable loss.

Court records reveal a troubling history between Allen and the suspect. Last year, Faux was charged with continuous violence against the family, stemming from repeated assaults on Allen during her pregnancy. Although the charge carried serious prison time, it was later reduced, leading to his early release earlier this year.

Now, investigators are asking the public to help locate him. For Allen’s family, justice cannot come soon enough. They are left holding onto memories, preparing for a final goodbye, and mourning a future that was taken from them far too soon.
