The quiet community of Wilmer woke up to heartbreak Monday morning as investigators uncovered a brutal scene inside a home on Auble Moody Road. Three lives were taken in a way that left even seasoned officers shaken, and a family shattered beyond repair.
Authorities say 46-year-old Lisa Ferguson, 17-year-old Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas Cordell were all found dead inside the residence. Luker, who was about eight months pregnant, was carrying a child that never got the chance to be born. In the middle of that tragedy, her 18-month-old daughter was found alive, untouched, a small glimmer of life in an otherwise devastating scene.

The discovery came around 2:30 a.m. after a worried call set everything in motion. Luker’s boyfriend, who works offshore and is the father of her children, reportedly noticed unusual activity on her phone through a tracking app. That uneasy feeling pushed him to ask a relative to check on the home.
What that family member found inside was something no one should ever have to see. The three victims were located in separate rooms, each restrained with zip ties or flex cuffs. Investigators say it points to a carefully planned attack, not something random or rushed.
The violence itself was deeply disturbing. Ferguson suffered multiple stab wounds and had her throat cut. Luker was shot and killed. Young Thomas Cordell endured injuries so severe they suggested an attempt at near decapitation. It was a level of brutality that raised more questions than answers.
Despite the horror, investigators believe the victims were specifically targeted. There were no signs of forced entry, and no evidence that anyone inside the home fought back. That detail alone suggests the attackers may have been known to the victims or caught them completely off guard.
Sheriff Paul Burch made it clear that this was not being treated as a domestic case. Instead, investigators are looking into other possibilities, including whether drugs played any role. While no major stash of drugs or cash was found, there are signs the attackers may have been searching for something.
Authorities also believe more than one person was involved. The coordination needed to restrain three individuals in separate rooms suggests planning, teamwork, and intent. This was not a crime of impulse. It was deliberate.
Even with the uncertainty, investigators say they are making progress. Leads are being followed, and there is growing confidence that those responsible will be identified and brought into custody. For now, a grieving community waits, holding onto the hope that justice will come soon.
