Authorities say the crash happened around 7:22 p.m. at the intersection of K-156 Highway and 210th Avenue, roughly eight miles west of Larned in Pawnee County. At the same moment, a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on K-156. Officials say the young rider entered the intersection and crossed into the path of the approaching pickup. The vehicles collided at the crossing, triggering an urgent response from emergency crews.

First responders rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Gaabriel Mull was pronounced dead there at the intersection. The sudden loss of such a young life has shaken many in the community, where tragedies involving children strike especially deep.

Investigators reported that Gaabriel had been riding alone at the time of the crash and was wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 55-year-old Robert L. Seder of Great Bend, Kansas, was also alone in his vehicle. Officials said Seder was wearing a seat belt and did not suffer any injuries.

The Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash as part of its standard fatal accident review. Troopers will closely examine factors such as roadway conditions, visibility, right-of-way rules, and other details that could help determine exactly how the collision unfolded.

For now, the focus in Larned has shifted from questions to remembrance. Friends and neighbors describe Gaabriel as a boy full of life and promise, someone whose future seemed wide open. His sudden passing has left a heavy silence in the small Kansas community that knew him.

As investigators work to piece together the final moments before the crash, the people of Larned are holding tight to one another and keeping Gaabriel Mull’s family in their thoughts during an unimaginably painful time.
