Jacksonville, Fla. — A quiet residential street in Normandy Estates turned into a crime scene before sunrise after a violent domestic dispute ended with three people dead and a community left in shock.
It happened around 3:50 a.m. on Exodus Way, where Jacksonville police say a call came in about a person stabbed inside a home. When officers arrived, they found 49-year-old Edwin Barber badly wounded.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive. His injuries were too severe, and he was later pronounced dead by medical staff.
As officers searched the area around the home, they found two more victims nearby. They were later identified as 27-year-old Savannah Barber and 37-year-old Shad Cole.
Both Savannah Barber and Shad Cole were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators quickly secured the neighborhood as word spread through the early morning silence.
Police believe the violence started inside the home during a domestic-related argument that escalated out of control. What began as a dispute allegedly turned into a fatal stabbing that unfolded in minutes.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives spent hours processing the scene, collecting evidence, and speaking with witnesses in an effort to reconstruct the final moments leading up to the attack.
A 30-year-old man, Austin Fisher, was arrested in connection with the killings. Authorities say he is facing three counts of second-degree murder and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Officials say there is no ongoing threat to the public, but they are still working to confirm every detail of what led to the deadly confrontation inside the home on Exodus Way.
The neighborhood remains shaken, with residents struggling to understand how an ordinary domestic dispute escalated into one of the city’s most severe recent violent incidents.
