Xavier St. Petersburg Joshua Strunk: 22-year-old Pinellas Park motorcyclist killed after left-turn crash at Tyrone Boulevard intersection

Xavier St. Petersburg Joshua Strunk, 22, lost his life late Tuesday night after a violent crash at a busy intersection in western St. Petersburg.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. at Tyrone Boulevard and 21st Avenue North, a heavily traveled area lined with shops and residential streets.

Investigators said Strunk was riding a gray Suzuki motorcycle when a Ford F-150 traveling east attempted a left turn onto Tyrone Boulevard.

According to police, the truck driver failed to yield, cutting directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

The impact was severe. Strunk suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital as emergency crews worked urgently at the scene.

Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, marking a sudden end to a young life from Pinellas Park.

The driver of the Ford F-150 stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. No charges have been announced as officials continue to review what happened.

The intersection remains under scrutiny as police try to determine whether speed, distraction, or other factors may have contributed to the crash.
