A quiet Friday night in rural Plymouth County turned tragic after a motorcycle crash claimed the life of 33-year-old Dakota Acevedo.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 10 p.m. Friday northeast of Le Mars, Iowa. Investigators said Acevedo was riding his motorcycle when it left the roadway while traveling through a curve.

Witnesses told deputies they saw the motorcycle accelerate before entering the curve. Moments later, the bike left the road, leading to a devastating crash. Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
When first responders arrived, they found Acevedo unconscious and not breathing. Emergency crews immediately worked to help him before transporting him to a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Despite those efforts, Acevedo later died from the injuries he suffered in the crash. The news left family members, friends, and members of the local community mourning the loss of a young man whose life ended far too soon.
The crash occurred in rural northwest Iowa, an area known for its farmland, winding county roads, and long stretches of highway connecting small towns and farming communities.
