Nasir Majied, a 22-year-old Towson University student, was killed in a shooting that police believe may be tied to road rage. The incident happened along York Road near a traffic circle in Baltimore County on Friday afternoon. It unfolded in a matter of seconds and left a campus community in shock.
Authorities say Majied was driving northbound in his Kia when the attack happened. He was alone in the vehicle. Traffic was moving normally when another car, also heading north, pulled alongside him. That is when shots were fired.

Police reported that multiple rounds were discharged from the suspect’s vehicle. Majied was struck while still inside his car. His vehicle slowed and came to a stop shortly after the shooting.
Officers from Precinct 6-Towson arrived within minutes of the emergency call. They provided immediate medical assistance at the scene. Despite their efforts, Majied’s injuries were severe.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors later pronounced him dead. The news spread quickly across the Towson University community.
University leadership confirmed his death the following day. The president described the loss as devastating and said the campus was grieving the sudden violence that took one of its students.
Investigators from Baltimore County continue to examine the case. They are reviewing possible motives and tracking leads tied to the vehicle involved. The suspect fled the scene heading northbound and remains unidentified.
Authorities have not ruled out road rage as a cause. However, they say the exact relationship, if any, between the driver and the shooter is still unclear. No arrests have been made.
The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward. The incident has left students and residents unsettled along the usually busy York Road corridor.
