BEVERLY HILLS: Woman Shoots at Rihanna’s Home, Police Say Singer Was Inside But Unharmed

Rihanna was at her Beverly Hills area house on Sunday afternoon when a 35‑year‑old woman pulled up in a white Tesla and fired multiple rounds toward the gated property. Law enforcement says at least ten shots rang out around 1:20 p.m., with some hitting the front gate, an RV parked in the driveway and at least one penetrating an exterior wall. The pop star, her partner and their young children were inside at the time but walked away physically unharmed.

Los Angeles Police Department officers quickly tracked the vehicle south on Coldwater Canyon Drive after the gunfire and found the car parked at a lot in Sherman Oaks. The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Florida, was taken into custody without further incident. Authorities later booked her on suspicion of attempted murder and set bail at just over ten million dollars.

Investigators recovered an AR‑15‑style rifle from Ortiz’s vehicle. Police have not publicly stated a clear motive but are treating the case as an active homicide division investigation. There is no known connection between Ortiz and the singer or her family, officials say.

In the days before the shooting, posts attributed to Ortiz’s social media accounts showed unusual messages mentioning Rihanna and other celebrities. In one, she tagged the singer and used derogatory language, seeming to challenge her to respond directly. In another video, she addressed rapper Cardi B while standing in front of a mirror. These posts have raised questions about Ortiz’s state of mind, though police have not confirmed they are part of the motive.

Neighbors in the quiet Beverly Crest neighborhood said they were startled by the sudden sound of gunfire in a place where such incidents are rare. One described hearing a rapid series of bangs and feeling shaken by the experience. Local residents praised the quick response by police that led to an arrest within about half an hour.

Rihanna has not publicly commented on the incident. Her representatives have remained silent while authorities continue to piece together why Ortiz targeted the home. The singer, known for chart‑topping hits and her business ventures, has previously dealt with security incidents, but this marks one of the most dramatic.

As the investigation unfolds, questions linger about how a stranger from across the country ended up in Beverly Hills with a weapon and what, if any, the suspect’s true intentions were. For now, authorities say they will be reviewing all available evidence as they work to build a case around the shooting.
