Peoria Bradley Park Shooting: Jarvis Allison Jr. Killed After Teen Gunfire Erupts

Peoria Bradley Park Shooting: Peoria is in mourning after the death of 17-year-old Jarvis Allison Jr., who was killed Sunday evening during a burst of gunfire at Bradley Park.

Jarvis Allison Jr., 17, of West Millman Street, was shot shortly after 7:15 p.m. at the park in the 1300 block of North Park Road. He was first found conscious at the scene, but his condition quickly turned critical.

Emergency responders rushed him to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead around 11:40 p.m. that same night.

Police said officers arrived to a chaotic scene with people running in different directions, some on foot and others in vehicles. Investigators later confirmed that Allison had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials believe a large group had gathered at the park for an unrelated gathering before violence broke out between two groups. Shots were exchanged, and multiple areas showed evidence of gunfire.

The shooting did not happen in isolation. Earlier that evening, two other teen boys, ages 16 and 17, were shot at Stadium Park on East Lake Avenue. One was hit in the chest, the other in the arm.

Later still, another shooting was reported in the 6700 block of North Mountello, where bullets struck a car and a nearby home. No injuries were reported in that incident.

The loss of Jarvis Allison Jr. has left the community shaken. Family and friends are now facing the sudden reality of a life cut short in a moment of chaos, while police continue to search for answers.
