In Hanford, a quiet early Sunday morning turned deadly after a home invasion left 25-year-old Adrian Valdovinos shot and killed inside a residence on University Avenue near West Grangeville Boulevard.
Police say officers were called just after 4 a.m. following a 911 report of a disturbance involving a man and a woman inside the home. The situation escalated quickly before officers even made entry.

When officers arrived, they heard a heated argument coming from inside the house. They announced their presence and moved in to control the situation.
Inside, investigators say they later found Adrian Valdovinos dead in a bedroom from gunshot wounds. A woman who had been inside the home was safely removed by police.
Authorities say the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Vincent Diaz, forced his way into the residence. Diaz was the ex-husband of the woman present in the home.
According to investigators, Diaz confronted Valdovinos, who was the woman’s current boyfriend. The confrontation turned violent, ending in gunfire.
Police say Diaz shot Valdovinos before turning the gun on himself in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hanford Police Department says the investigation is still active, and detectives are working to fully understand the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Officials are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward as they continue to piece together what happened inside the home that morning.
