Owensboro Kentucky: Tina Brooks, 34, is being remembered after a deadly crash claimed her life late Saturday night on JR Miller Boulevard in Owensboro.
It happened just after 8 p.m. in the 2800 block. Police say a Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Tina Brooks, was heading south when it suddenly left the roadway for reasons still under investigation. In a matter of seconds, the vehicle slammed into a utility pole and then a tree with heavy force.

The impact was severe. The tree reportedly came down and blocked the roadway for hours, forcing emergency crews to work through the night to clear the scene and secure the area.
Firefighters had to pull Brooks from the wreckage due to how badly the vehicle was damaged. She was the only person inside the car at the time of the crash.
Paramedics with AMR rushed her to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Despite all efforts by medical staff, she was later pronounced dead.
News of her passing has left family and friends in deep shock. Those who knew her are now trying to process a sudden loss that came without warning and far too soon.
The Owensboro Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is still working the case. Officials say they have not determined why the vehicle left the road.
As the investigation continues, the focus in the community remains on Tina Brooks, a 34-year-old whose life ended in a split second on a quiet Owensboro road.
