Caleb Espinoza, Hobson: Three young Texas siblings wiped out in a sudden highway wreck on their way back from the beach.

The road trip was supposed to end with a happy arrival home. Three young siblings were driving back from a fun getaway in Port Aransas. The sun was already up on a warm Thursday morning. They were cruising down the highway outside Hobson.

Then everything changed in a single split second. The clock sat right around 8 a.m. Their car became tangled in a massive, violent wreck. The collision happened right near the intersection of U.S. 181 and County Road 212.

Caleb Espinoza was the one behind the wheel. His 25-year-old sister Abbie sat right next to him in the front passenger seat. Their youngest sister, 18-year-old Eleora, was riding along in the back seat. They were almost home when the impact occurred.

The force of the crash was completely devastating. First responders rushed to the scene but found total destruction. Caleb and Abbie suffered fatal injuries from the impact. Medical crews pronounced both of them dead right there on the hot pavement.

Emergency workers found Eleora still clinging to life. She had a very faint heartbeat when they pulled her from the wreckage. Paramedics rushed her straight to the hospital. She was fighting a losing battle against massive physical injuries.

The teenage girl suffered severe brain trauma and a terrible brain hemorrhage. Her body was broken with multiple fractured bones. Her heart stopped completely two different times during the frantic medical scramble. Doctors tried everything they could to stabilize her.

Eleora passed away from her injuries a short time later. Her grieving mother, Candelaria, decided to let her girl give one final gift. Eleora became an organ donor to save other lives. Now, local folks have raised over fifty thousand dollars to help the broken family pay for three unexpected funerals.
