Louisville — A quiet Saturday evening turned tragic on I-265 when a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Kristen Mohr. Around 6:15 p.m., Louisville Metro Police and emergency responders were called to the Gene Snyder Freeway near Dixie Highway and Stonestreet Road after a car left the roadway and rolled over, ejecting Mohr.
Officials say Mohr was driving east on the freeway when she lost control of her car for reasons that are still unclear. The vehicle went off the road, entered the median, and overturned. Because she was not wearing a seatbelt, Mohr was thrown from the vehicle. EMS crews pronounced her dead at the scene.

Authorities have ruled out other vehicles in the incident, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the LMPD Traffic Unit. Eastbound lanes were shut down for several hours as crews worked to investigate and reopen the road, creating traffic backups late into the night.
Mohr’s death has left a deep void among those who knew her. Described by friends and neighbors as warm-hearted and full of life, she was more than a name in a police report. Loved ones are now sharing stories of everyday kindness and moments that made her presence special, trying to hold on to the memories that now carry extra weight.
Community members have gathered to support her family and each other, offering comfort and remembrance in the face of sudden loss. Many say the shock of the accident has reminded them of how unpredictable life can be, and how important it is to cherish the people around us.
Family members, in their grief, are urging others to take safety seriously on the roads, especially when it comes to wearing seatbelts. They hope that something positive can come out of this pain by encouraging safer habits that might prevent future tragedies.
As the investigation continues, the focus remains on honoring Mohr’s life and helping those affected by her death find a way forward while keeping her memory alive in the hearts of her friends and family.
