Bobby Criado was just nineteen years old with his whole life ahead of him. On a warm Tuesday night, he was simply riding shotgun in a friend’s car. He expected a normal ride home. Instead, the trip ended in an absolute nightmare.
The tragic accident took place right around 9:46 p.m. at a quiet rural intersection. Bobby was a passenger in a white Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle was traveling east along a dark two-lane road.

As the car approached the crossroads, the driver missed a posted stop sign. The vehicle sailed straight into the intersection without stopping. At that exact moment, a black Jeep Wrangler was traveling south on the cross street.
The Jeep had the right-of-way, but there was no time to brake. The front of the Chevy plowed violently into the side of the Jeep. The sound of metal crushing woke up the entire neighborhood.
The force of the impact pushed both vehicles off the roadway. They careened wildly into the front yard of a nearby house. They smashed into a parked vehicle and collided heavily with a structural support beam of the home.
First responders rushed to the chaotic scene within minutes. The young woman driving the Chevy died right there at the intersection. Paramedics pulled Bobby from the wreckage with massive, life-threatening injuries and rushed him to the hospital.
Doctors worked tirelessly to save the teenager, but the damage was too severe. His heartbroken family later shared the devastating news that his injuries were not survivable. Community members are now coming together to support his grieving family during this unimaginable loss.
