Frenchtown Township: Resident Injured in Monroe County Mobile Home Pellet Gun Dispute, Suspect Arrested

A quiet afternoon in Frenchtown Township, Michigan, turned tense when a dispute inside a mobile home community ended with a resident injured by a pellet gun. The incident happened at Kimberly Estates near Telegraph Road and Buhl Road.

Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the call came in around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1. Officers were directed to the area of Lauren and Huntington Drive, where they found a resident suffering a facial injury.

Authorities said the injury was caused by a pellet gun during a disagreement between people who already knew each other. Investigators stressed that this was not a random act and appeared to stem from a personal conflict.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials later confirmed the injuries were not life-threatening, and the person is expected to recover.

For several hours, the suspect was not immediately found. Then, roughly five hours later, deputies received a report that the suspect’s vehicle had been spotted inside the same mobile home complex.

Law enforcement, including the Michigan State Police, responded to a residence on Mark Drive. Officers observed the suspect inside the home before he came out without resistance and was taken into custody.

The weapon believed to have been used in the incident was recovered at the scene. Authorities later confirmed the suspect is a 44-year-old man who was booked into the Monroe County Jail. His identity is expected to be released after arraignment.

Officials described the situation as contained and isolated, noting there is no ongoing threat to residents as the investigation continues.
