Za’mier Neal, MAULDIN, S.C.: 9-year-old boy struck by vehicle during quiet evening on residential street
A 9-year-old boy from Greenville has died after a tragic pedestrian crash in Mauldin on Wednesday evening. His name was Za’mier Messiah-Marshawn Neal.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on June 3 in the area of Wild Dogwood Way. Reports say the child was walking as a pedestrian when he was struck by a motor vehicle.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene after multiple calls came in about a child hit by a car. First responders found Za’mier with severe injuries.
He was given immediate medical care at the scene before being transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for urgent treatment.
Doctors worked to save him, but he later died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 7:18 p.m.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy conducted the next day found he died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash.
Officials ruled the death accidental, but the loss has left family members and the local community in deep grief.
Authorities, including the South Carolina Highway Patrol, continue to investigate how the collision happened and what factors may have been involved.
