Stevi Cox, Morgan County Alabama 67: A quiet morning drive ends in sudden tragedy near Ryan Loop Road
Stevi Cox, 46, a Rainbow City woman, lost her life in a violent two-vehicle crash that shut down a stretch of Alabama 67 in Morgan County. The crash happened near mile marker 15 and brought traffic to a standstill as emergency crews rushed in.


It was late Monday morning when the collision occurred along Alabama 67 near Ryan Loop Road. Investigators say Cox was driving a 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2022 Jeep Gladiator.
The impact was severe. Authorities confirmed she was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders worked quickly, but there was nothing they could do to save her life.
The other driver survived the crash but was injured. That person was transported to Marshall Medical Hospital for treatment. Officials have not released further details about their condition.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that the highway was closed temporarily while investigators documented the scene and crews cleared debris from the roadway. Traffic in the area was heavily affected for hours.
The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division. At this stage, officials have not confirmed what led to the head-on collision.
