Madison County, Indiana — A quiet stretch of road south of Elwood turned into a scene of tragedy when a late-night crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Noah Alberts.
It happened around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 37 and State Road 128. What should have been an ordinary ride ended in a violent collision that no one saw coming.

Investigators say Noah was riding a 2006 Suzuki C50 motorcycle heading east on State Road 128. As he approached the intersection, the motorcycle did not stop at a stop sign and entered the crossing.
At the same moment, a 2015 GMC Sierra was traveling north on State Road 37. The two vehicles met in the middle of the intersection in a crash that caused severe impact damage.
Emergency teams arrived quickly from multiple agencies. They worked on scene trying to save him, but his injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead at the location by the Madison County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities confirmed that Noah was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. That detail is now part of the ongoing review into what happened in those final moments.
The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the full sequence of events. Questions remain about speed, timing, and visibility at the intersection.
Friends and family in Anderson are left with grief and disbelief. They remember him as a young man full of life, now gone too soon in a moment that changed everything.
