Jeffersontown — On the evening of April 7, neighbors called for help when gunfire broke out at an apartment on Fir Trail. What followed was a community rocked by loss and a young woman’s life cut short.
At about 7:30 p.m., officers arrived at the 3000 block of Fir Trail where they found 19‑year‑old Noraa Deglow suffering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder. Emergency services rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she did not survive the surgery that night.
Those who knew Noraa describe her as a caring soul, quick to laugh and generous with her time. She had a way of making people feel seen and appreciated, whether in quiet moments with family or laughing with friends in bigger gatherings.
Investigators say 21‑year‑old Adam Thomas was with Noraa at the apartment when a revolver discharged. Police say Thomas was taken into custody at the scene and the firearm, with a spent cartridge, was recovered.
Thomas appeared before a judge where he pleaded not guilty. He remains in Metro Corrections with bond set at half a million dollars cash as the legal process moves forward.
Family and friends are mourning Noraa’s sudden loss, remembering her resilience and the joy she brought into lives around her. They asked for privacy as they begin to grieve and process an unimaginable tragedy.
