The quiet street on Tinnell Court in Murfreesboro turned into a scene of heartbreak this week after 26-year-old Hannah Jackson was found dead inside her home. Authorities say her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old David Ivy, is now facing serious charges in connection with her death.
Police say Jackson had only recently moved into the home, hoping to start over and build a safer life for herself and her four young children. Family members described her as determined, juggling work, school, and motherhood with a kind of strength that kept everyone around her inspired.

But that fresh start was cut short. Investigators say Ivy entered the home Thursday morning using a code, catching Jackson off guard. According to her mother, Danielle Jackson, there was no struggle. No warning. Just a sudden, violent end.
Officers later tracked Ivy down at a residence on Steelson Court around mid-morning. By then, he had already contacted family members, saying he had been involved in a domestic incident. When deputies arrived, they found him threatening to harm himself before taking him into custody without further incident.
Ivy is now charged with first-degree homicide, unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a dangerous felony, and especially aggravated burglary. He is being held on a $700,000 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, with a court hearing set for June 22.
Back on Tinnell Court, the loss is being felt deeply. Jackson’s family remembers her as joyful and selfless, a woman who put her children above everything else. Her grandmother said she loved her kids more than herself, while her brother described her as someone who always cared for others.
Now, the focus has shifted to supporting the four children she leaves behind. A fundraising effort has been set up to help cover funeral costs and provide for the family moving forward. Through their grief, loved ones hope Hannah’s story will serve as a warning and a call for others in dangerous relationships to seek help before it is too late.
