WICHITA Police Identify Victim in Deadly Motorcycle Crash

Wichita, Kan — On Tuesday afternoon around 3:30, 22‑year‑old Blaise Stewart died in a wreck that stunned the southeast side of this city. Stewart was riding his motorcycle north across the city at the busy intersection of Lincoln and Oliver when a car turned directly into his path. The impact was violent, and emergency crews could not save him.

Police say a green Kia Soul driven by a 61‑year‑old Wichita woman was heading south on Oliver and made a turn onto Lincoln just as Stewart’s motorcycle approached. The vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection, forcing the Kia onto its side. First responders worked on Stewart at the scene, but he died before he could be transported. The driver of the Kia was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash and are reviewing what happened.

Stewart’s life stretched beyond the moments on that street. He was known among coworkers and friends as someone who lifted spirits with both his humor and his hard work. People who knew him say he was the kind of guy who made time for others, no matter how long his own day had been. He put sweat into everything he did, from long shifts to late nights at the gym, and earned a place in the hearts of many in the community.

For those who saw him at work or around town, Stewart was more than a name. He was a presence — upbeat and grounded. The shock of losing someone so young rippled through those circles quickly, a stark reminder of how fragile life can be. Friends and family are left grappling with loss as investigators piece together the moments leading up to the crash.

Police remain on the scene investigating and urge anyone with additional information to reach out. They have not released any further details about charges or citations at this time. Traffic investigators continue to examine the motions of both vehicles and hope witness accounts will shed more light on the moments before impact.

In the hours and days since the accident, community members have shared memories that paint a fuller picture of Stewart: a young man who gave freely of his energy and spirit, and whose absence will be deeply felt. Those who knew him best speak of his laughter and the easy manner in which he related to others.

His family, friends, and colleagues are left organizing tributes, wrestling with unanswered questions, and confronting the reality that a life with so much promise ended suddenly. The investigation will continue, but for now, the community mourns a life that was lost far too soon.
