A young man’s life was cut short on a Friday evening. Bishop Keanu Jackson, just 28 years old, was riding his motorcycle through Roanoke County when everything changed in an instant.
He was cruising down Colonial Avenue around 7:35 p.m. It was a regular Friday night in the Cave Spring area until a Honda SUV crossed his path.

The impact was devastating. Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Colonial Avenue and Poplar Drive, doing everything they could to save him right there on the asphalt.
Medics quickly transported Bishop to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Doctors and nurses fought hard to save his life, but his injuries were simply too severe. He passed away at the hospital.
Now, his hometown of Roanoke is left mourning a young life gone way too soon. Meanwhile, the woman behind the wheel of the SUV is facing serious criminal charges.
Authorities arrested 64-year-old Barbara Ann Callahan at the scene. Police say she refused to take a blood-alcohol test after the tragic collision.
Callahan now faces heavy charges, including DUI involuntary manslaughter and first-offense DWI. Local police are still actively digging into the crash to get full answers.
