A routine Saturday morning shift ended in absolute heartbreak for a local family. Randy Kuntsman was just doing his job out on the highway when the unthinkable happened. The 65-year-old tow truck operator from Independence lost his life in a tragic accident that has left the local community reeling.
It all unfolded around 9:15 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 275. Kuntsman had responded to a call near the Taylor Mill Road exit. A previous fender-bender had left a vehicle stranded on the side of the busy highway, and he was there to clear the scene and help out.
