Sidney, Maine: A tragic afternoon on Interstate 95 has left Sangerville grieving the sudden death of 61-year-old Adam Robinson, who lost his life in a motorcycle crash on April 18, 2026.
According to authorities, the crash happened at about 5:36 p.m. on Saturday along the northbound lane of I-95 near mile marker 120 in Sidney. Two motorcycles were traveling together when the incident unfolded.

Robinson was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson, alongside 28-year-old Jayson Lancaster of Carmel, who was on a 2008 Harley-Davidson. They had been riding in the same direction and were reportedly moving together with traffic.
Investigators say the two riders passed another vehicle and began merging back into the right lane when trouble began. At that moment, Robinson’s motorcycle reportedly suffered a sudden mechanical failure.
Officials believe the brake system locked up unexpectedly, causing Robinson to lose control. The force of the incident threw him from the bike, leading to fatal injuries at the scene.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Robinson could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the location of the crash, leaving behind a stunned community and grieving loved ones in Sangerville.
Lancaster was also thrown from his motorcycle during the crash. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment and is expected to recover.
The Maine State Police continue to investigate the exact cause of the mechanical failure, while Sidney Rescue and MaineDOT assisted at the scene as traffic was secured and the area cleared.
