Lewes: The community of Lewes is grieving after a sudden crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Anthony Hunt early Sunday morning.

According to Delaware State Police, Anthony was driving a Dodge Ram southbound when the vehicle unexpectedly left the roadway for reasons that are still not clear.

The truck went into a ditch, overturned violently, and flipped onto its roof before striking a tree. The crash caused severe damage to the vehicle and left little chance for survival.

Investigators say Anthony was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was ejected during the rollover, which greatly worsened the severity of his injuries.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported him to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts by medical staff, Anthony did not survive his injuries and was later pronounced dead.

State police collision reconstruction specialists are still working to determine what caused the truck to leave the road in the first place. The investigation remains open as officials review all possible factors.

Those who knew Anthony are struggling to process the loss. At 26, he was still building his life, with future plans now left unfinished. His absence is being felt deeply across his circle of family and friends.

He is being remembered for who he was in life, not just the crash that took him. Loved ones say the focus now is on honoring his memory and the time they shared with him.
