Strongsville Costco Parking Lot: Randy Corrigan Killed in Evening Shooting

Strongsville Costco Parking Lot turned into a chaotic scene Saturday evening after a longtime employee, 61-year-old Randy Corrigan, was shot outside the store on Royalton Road.

Police say officers were called to the Costco at 16690 Royalton Road around 5:43 p.m. after reports of gunfire in the busy parking lot. Shoppers were still moving in and out when everything suddenly stopped.

When officers arrived, they found Corrigan suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the ground outside the store. They immediately began first aid while waiting for emergency medical services.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead. The news left both workers and customers shaken.

Authorities confirmed the incident led to a large police response and a temporary evacuation of the store as investigators secured the scene and began collecting evidence.

Police said a male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting for questioning. Officials have not released the suspect’s identity or said what may have led to the violence.

Family members later identified Corrigan and described him as a devoted man who took care of his grandmother and “did everything” for his loved ones. A fundraiser titled “Help with funeral & grandmother’s care” was started to support his family.
