Ormond Beach, Florida: Rebekah Petrick Killed in Sunday SUV Crash at Orchard and Cherrywood

Ormond Beach, Florida — A quiet Sunday morning turned tragic when 34-year-old Rebekah Petrick of Holly Hill lost her life in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Ormond Beach. The collision happened shortly before noon and involved an SUV and a sedan.

Police say officers were called to South Orchard Street and Cherrywood Drive at about 11:47 a.m. on April 26, 2026, after reports of a serious crash. When they arrived, they found a damaged SUV and sedan blocking part of the intersection.


Rebekah Petrick, who was driving the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she did not survive the impact.

A passenger in Petrick’s SUV was also injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the sedan was injured as well and transported for medical care. Officials have not released full details on their conditions.

Investigators say the sedan driver is cooperating with authorities as they continue to piece together what led to the crash. At this time, the cause has not been determined.

Police spokesperson Jesse Godfrey said the investigation is still active and ongoing. He added that officials are working carefully to understand all circumstances surrounding the collision.

Family and community members say Petrick had just left church and was on her way home when the crash happened. The news has left those close to her in shock.

She was a member of Harbor Baptist Church, where her father serves as pastor. Church members remember her as deeply involved in church life and community activities, often serving in children’s programs and music.

Petrick also worked as a marketing director for Chick-fil-A. Friends and coworkers described her as energetic and involved in outreach efforts, always engaged in both her job and her community.
