VICCO, Ky.: 16-Year-Old Emilynn Clark Dies in ATV Crash, Family in Shock

VICCO, Kentucky — Friends and family are struggling to make sense of an unexpected loss after 16-year-old Emilynn Clark died in a late-night all-terrain vehicle crash Saturday. Emilynn’s uncle shared the news with heartbreak, saying her family is reeling from a life ended too soon.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Saturday on Oakwood Avenue. Perry County deputies responding to the scene found the ATV had left the road and plunged over an embankment. Emilynn, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a student at Perry County Central High School and described by loved ones as kind, full of life, and deeply cherished.

Two adult men riding with Emilynn were hurt and taken to hospitals. One of them suffered serious injuries. The driver of the ATV was another 16-year-old girl, who survived. Authorities say she has been charged with driving under the influence, though her name has not been released because she is a minor.

Officials believe alcohol played a role in the crash and are investigating whether adults riding with the teens may also face charges. Deputies are examining surveillance and evidence as part of a broader probe into how the crash unfolded.

Family members issued a statement asking for privacy, prayers and support as they navigate their grief. Plans are underway to help cover funeral expenses, and the community has already started coming together in support.

In a personal tribute, Emilynn’s uncle said her absence leaves a hole that nothing can fill. He asked everyone touched by her story to remember her laughter and the joy she brought, and to keep her family in their thoughts in the difficult weeks ahead.
