A quiet stretch of highway in Pike County turned tragic on June 1 when a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 23-year-old Le’Travous Z. Griffin of Brundidge.
According to authorities, Griffin was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger on Alabama Highway 125 when the pickup left the roadway near the 23-mile marker. The crash happened about four miles south of Brundidge.

Investigators said the truck overturned after leaving the highway. During the violent crash, Griffin was ejected from the vehicle and suffered critical injuries.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported Griffin to Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The sudden loss has left family members, friends, and members of the Brundidge community mourning a young life cut short far too soon. News of the crash spread quickly across the area, bringing sadness to many who knew him.
At this time, officials have not released details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances that led up to the crash.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to examine evidence from the scene as part of their ongoing investigation.
For now, many questions remain unanswered. What is certain is that a young Alabama man lost his life in a devastating crash, leaving loved ones to cope with an unexpected and heartbreaking loss.
