It is always heartbreaking when a regular night out turns into an absolute nightmare in the blink of an eye. That is exactly what happened to a local man whose life was cut incredibly short on a dark rural road. The community is now dealing with a massive wave of grief after losing someone who was deeply woven into the fabric of the local area.
Clint Miller was a well-liked forty-six-year-old resident from Eaton Rapids who loved spending time outdoors. He was just out enjoying a late-night ride in his utility terrain vehicle when things went sideways. No one could have predicted that a simple trip down a familiar road would end in such an awful tragedy.

The whole thing unfolded around 9:45 p.m. on a quiet Thursday night, June 18. Clint was steering his UTV northbound through the dark, enjoying the cool evening air. He was traveling down the 5800 block of Gale Road, right near the intersection of Baseline Road, when the environment turned hostile.
Without warning, a deer jumped straight out into the middle of the roadway directly in front of his moving vehicle. The sudden appearance left Clint with absolutely zero time to react or avoid a collision. The UTV slammed directly into the animal with tremendous force, completely disrupting the path of the vehicle.
The violent impact from hitting the deer forced the UTV completely off the side of the road. It careened wildly out of control before slamming directly into a large tree along the shoulder. The second crash caused severe damage to the vehicle and left Clint with catastrophic injuries.
Emergency sirens soon broke the nighttime silence as first responders rushed out to the scene. Brave crews from the Onondaga Township Fire Department and an MMR Ambulance team arrived quickly. They immediately began desperate life-saving measures to try and pull Clint back from the brink.
Sadly, despite the frantic and heroic efforts of the medical teams, Clint was pronounced dead right there at the scene. Friends and family are now left to mourn a truly sudden and devastating loss. Local authorities are still looking into factors like speed, but for everyone who knew Clint, the world is just a little bit darker now
