Dallas County, Ala.: Kimeia A. Bennett Dies After Highway 80 Crash Near Selma

A quiet early morning drive ended in tragedy in Dallas County, Alabama, when 43-year-old Kimeia A. Bennett lost her life in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 80, just outside Selma.

The crash happened shortly before 4:00 a.m. when Bennett was traveling westbound about eight miles from Selma. For reasons still unknown, her vehicle left the roadway.

According to early findings, the car struck a guardrail before overturning several times. The vehicle finally came to a stop off the highway.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene soon after the crash was reported. They worked quickly to provide aid, but Bennett’s injuries were too severe. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. The crash was isolated, with no additional injuries reported.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the circumstances leading up to the vehicle leaving the road are still unclear. Investigators are examining all possible factors.
