Daniel Jennings was a 34-year-old man from Tamworth, New Hampshire. His life came to a sudden end on a Saturday evening. He was riding his motorcycle along Route 16. It was a typical weekend ride in a beautiful part of the state. The crash happened just north of Piper Trail.
The clock showed around 5:30 p.m. when everything changed. People nearby saw Jennings riding northbound on the highway. Suddenly, he lost control of his motorcycle. The bike drifted away from its proper lane. It crossed right over the double yellow centerline.

A passenger vehicle was heading south on that same road. The driver could not avoid the oncoming bike. The motorcycle hit the vehicle head-on with incredible force. Jennings suffered massive injuries from the impact. He was pronounced dead right at the scene.
Emergency workers rushed to the location to help. The crash happened in Albany, which is a quiet town near the White Mountains. Responders from the Conway Fire Department arrived quickly. The New Hampshire State Police and local officers also came to secure the area.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was very fortunate. They only sustained minor injuries in the crash. Medics treated the driver at the scene. They were released shortly after receiving care. It was a relief that no one else was killed.
Police officers had to shut down Route 16 for a long time. Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office blocked the road. They needed to gather evidence and document the scene. Workers also had to clear away the broken wreckage from the highway.
The sheriff’s office is still looking into the cause of the accident. Investigators do not know why Jennings lost control of his bike. They have not released any more details yet. Sgt. Stephen Rowe is asking witnesses to email him with any useful information.
