A Friday evening shooting in Rankin County, Mississippi, has left a family grieving and a community searching for answers after 27-year-old Idarrious Iantron Bowie was killed during a violent incident at a home on Adams Road.
According to investigators, deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 100 block of Adams Road shortly after 6 p.m. on June 5 following reports of gunfire. Witnesses said a disturbance had escalated before shots were fired.

When deputies arrived, they found Bowie suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save his life, he later died from his injuries.
Authorities identified Bowie as a resident of Lena, Mississippi. Friends and former teammates remembered him as a talented athlete who graduated from Morton High School before continuing his football career at both Ole Miss and Jackson State University.
Investigators quickly began processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Reports indicated that a small gray passenger car carrying several people was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting.
Within hours, investigators identified suspects connected to the case. Authorities arrested 18-year-old Ladarious Harrison and 19-year-old Dominick Sanabria, charging both men with murder.
Two additional suspects were also taken into custody. Semiko Crump, 46, and Kaylee Trimble, 18, were each charged with accessory after the fact of murder. Officials said the investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence and speaking with witnesses.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that one firearm has been recovered as part of the investigation. Authorities have also indicated that additional arrests could be possible as investigators continue to examine what happened before and after the deadly shooting.
For many people who knew Bowie, the tragedy has been especially difficult. The loss of a young man who once stood out on football fields across Mississippi has left friends, former classmates, and loved ones mourning a life cut short far too soon while waiting for justice to run its course.
