Caleb Samuel Laurence-Goss is being remembered in Otamatea, New Zealand, after news of his passing left family, friends, and classmates in deep grief.
He was a student at Otamatea High School, known for his lively presence and the way he could lift a room with nothing more than a smile or a quick joke. People around him often described him as naturally warm, easy to talk to, and full of personality.

At school, Caleb took part in different activities and stayed active in both sports and classroom life. He played football and futsal, and also enjoyed chess, showing a balance of focus, teamwork, and quiet thinking.
Teachers and students recall him as someone who did not move through school unnoticed. He showed energy in group work and sports, but also showed care in small moments, checking on others and making sure people were okay.
Outside school, Caleb’s personality carried the same consistency. He was playful, often joking with friends, and had a humour that felt natural rather than forced. Those close to him say his laughter was one of the things they will remember most.
Family was central in his life. He was a son to Tessa and Samuel and stepson to Gavin. He shared a strong bond with his twin brother Matthew, who was also his closest companion.
He was also a brother to Sophie and stepbrother to Savannah, Henderson, Hayden, and Kimberley. In every role within his family, he was described as present, caring, and deeply loved.
Those who knew Caleb now speak of memories that feel heavier in his absence. His kindness, humour, and energy remain in the stories people share, even as they struggle to accept the loss.
