BARREN COUNTY Ky Timothy Parson Killed in Early Morning Crash on Happy Valley Road, Community Mourns Glasgow Man

BARREN COUNTY Ky — A quiet morning in Barren County turned tragic on Friday, April 10, 2026, when Timothy Parson, 41, of Glasgow, lost his life in a fatal crash at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Flint Knob Road.

Authorities with Kentucky State Police said the crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. when troopers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious collision.

Investigators say Parson was driving west on Happy Valley Road when his vehicle crossed the center line for reasons still under investigation. That movement placed him directly in the path of an oncoming commercial vehicle.

The commercial vehicle was being driven by 32-year-old Rayen Hicks of Sellersburg, Indiana. The impact was severe, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged at the scene.

Emergency crews from Barren County EMS, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office responded quickly. Despite their efforts, Timothy Parson was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner.

Officials confirmed that no other deaths were recorded in the crash. The driver of the commercial vehicle survived the collision.

The investigation remains active as troopers continue to piece together what caused the vehicle to cross the center line in the early morning hours. Weather, speed, and road conditions are all being reviewed.

News of Parson’s death has shaken the Glasgow community. Friends and family remember him as a steady presence whose sudden loss feels difficult to accept.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced later by the family as the community continues to grieve a life cut short.
