Sarnia, Ontario — A late-night shooting at Lambton College’s campus bar has left one young man dead and two others injured, turning a student gathering into a scene of panic and heartbreak.
Police say officers were called just before 1:00 a.m. Friday after reports of gunfire at the Lions Den, a bar located on campus where a student-run event was taking place. When officers arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Among the victims was 20-year-old Dane Nisbet of Sarnia, who was in critical condition at the scene. He was rushed to Bluewater Health, where he later died from his injuries.
Nisbet was known in the local hockey scene. He had played for the Mooretown Flags and the North Middlesex Stars in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Friends and teammates have described him as a young athlete with strong ties to the community.
Two other victims were also taken to hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening. They are expected to survive, according to police updates.
Investigators say no arrests have been made so far. They believe multiple suspects may have been involved in the shooting and are still working to identify those responsible.
Authorities also noted that it is not yet clear whether the victims were students at Lambton College. Police do not believe the campus itself was specifically targeted.
The college shut down its Sarnia campus for the day following the incident, cancelling classes and services while counseling support was offered to students and staff dealing with the shock.
Officials described the shooting as a senseless act of violence and extended condolences to the family of Dane Nisbet as the investigation continues.
Police remain at the scene and are asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together what led to the shooting.
