It happened just before 10 p.m. on May 26 along Interstate 65 near the Dodge City area in Cullman County, Alabama. A 2012 Cadillac SRX was heading southbound when everything went wrong in seconds.
According to officials, Kristen B. Rogers, 35, of Florence, was behind the wheel. The SUV suddenly left the roadway for reasons still under investigation. It slammed into a cable barrier and flipped over.

The impact was severe. Both Rogers and her passenger, Danny W. Robinson, were not wearing seat belts. Investigators say both were thrown from the vehicle during the rollover.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene near the Alabama 69 exit, about two miles southeast of Dodge City. But despite their response, there was nothing they could do. Both victims were pronounced dead where they were found.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers shut down parts of I-65 for hours while they worked the scene and cleared debris.
For now, investigators have not determined why the SUV left the highway. There are no charges, and the case remains open as officials piece together what happened in those final moments.
Friends and family of Kristen Rogers are now left with a sudden and painful loss. A routine drive turned into a tragedy that nobody saw coming, and a community is now dealing with the silence it left behind.
