Wilmer, Alabama — William Oliver Charged After Lisa Fields, Keziah Luker, and Thomas Cordelle Jr. Found Killed Inside Home

The quiet community of Wilmer, Alabama, is still trying to process a level of violence many here say they have never seen before. Authorities have now confirmed a major break in the case, announcing that a suspect, William Graham Oliver, is in custody and facing eight counts of capital murder in connection to the deaths of three victims found inside a home earlier this month.

Investigators say the victims—46-year-old Lisa Gail Fields, 17-year-old Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas Cordelle Jr.—were discovered on April 20 after a concerned boyfriend noticed unusual activity on Luker’s phone through a tracking app. When he couldn’t reach her, he asked a relative to check on the house. That decision led to a 911 call and a scene that deputies would later describe as deeply disturbing.

Inside the home, authorities found each victim in a separate room. All three had been restrained with zip ties, a detail that quickly signaled the calculated nature of the crime. Investigators say Lisa Fields suffered fatal stab wounds along with a deep cut to her throat. Keziah Luker was shot and killed. Thomas Cordelle Jr. died from a severe wound to the throat.

What has shaken many even more is the revelation that Luker was about eight months pregnant at the time. That detail has added another layer of grief to a case already filled with pain, as family members struggle to understand how such a tragedy could unfold so close to home.

Sheriff’s officials confirmed that Oliver was known to the victims’ family, though they have not yet explained how. They also noted that the home appeared to have been ransacked, suggesting the suspect may have been searching for something. Early on, the level of coordination involved led investigators to consider whether more than one person could have been involved.

Amid the violence, one small piece of relief emerged. An 18-month-old child inside the home was found alive and unharmed. That discovery has stood in stark contrast to the brutality surrounding it, leaving many to wonder how the child was spared.

Authorities have not released a clear motive, and they have emphasized that the case does not appear to be domestic in nature. Oliver is expected to be moved through the legal process as investigators continue to examine evidence and piece together what led to the killings. For now, the community waits, holding onto questions that still have no answers
