TEMPLE HILLS, Md.: Juanita Frazier Remembered After Fatal Night Shooting at Oxon Run Park

Temple Hills, Md. — A quiet night at Oxon Run Community Park turned deadly when 38-year-old Juanita Frazier was found shot and unresponsive late Tuesday night.

Police say officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police and Prince George’s County Police were called to the park around 10:20 p.m. after reports of a woman lying unresponsive in the area.

When officers arrived, they found Frazier, a Washington, D.C. resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders immediately tried to save her life.

Despite those efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a growing list of unanswered questions.

Investigators with the Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit took over the case shortly after the scene was secured overnight.

The park, usually a place where people gather for recreation and evening walks, was quickly turned into an active crime scene as detectives worked under the lights, collecting evidence.

Authorities have not said what may have led to the shooting. They are still working to understand how Frazier ended up in the park and whether she was targeted or caught in a random act of violence.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information about a suspect or motive. The investigation remains open and active.

Officials are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477 or submit an anonymous tip online, referencing case number 26-0022511.
